After long delays and much advocacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) appears finally poised to create a special registration pathway that would facilitate the prescription of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) via telemedicine. Clinicians and policy makers who have pushed for this change will no doubt celebrate. The hope is that this change in federal policy will increase access to MOUD.
