    Telehealth faces an uncertain future. Without congressional action, broad reimbursement for telehealth in Medicare will expire at the end of 2024. Physicians and health systems have asked Congress to craft permanent policy. They argue that without a signal that telehealth will be available permanently, clinicians will not make the necessary investments to optimize these services. In other words, telehealth cannot deliver on its promise to improve access and quality if Congress does not commit.

    BackgroundWe conducted a national, cross-sectional survey among new parents to explore use and acceptability of telelactation. MethodsRecruitment occurred between October 2021 and January 2022 on Ovia's parenting mobile phone application. Poststratification survey weights were used, and logistic and linear regression models estimated associations between demographics and telelactation use. Results: Among 1,617 respondents, 33.8% had at least one telelactation visit.

    Telemedicine use remains substantially higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic, although it has fallen from pandemic highs. To inform the ongoing debate about whether to continue payment for telemedicine visits, this report estimated the association of greater telemedicine use across health systems with utilization, spending, and quality.
