Introduction Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a persistent and potentially disabling movement disorder associated with prolonged exposure to dopamine receptor blocking agents, including antipsychotics.1 Long-term use of antipsychotics and other dopamine receptor blocking agents2 may predispose patients to the onset of tardive syndromes, including TD, as a potentially permanent unwanted effect.
