NAUGATUCK - A Naugatuck man was arrested after he took photos of a 14-year-old girl at a Dunkin' Donuts Saturday, police said. George Batza, 66, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor, Naugatuck police said in a news release Wednesday.

LYME - A brush fire at the Nehantic State Forest in Lyme spread across 50 acres before it was contained Wednesday, officials said. The Lyme Fire Company said its crews responded to a fire near Beckett Hill and Grassy Hill roads around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, which was at first estimated to cover between five and eight acres. The fire spread to more than 50 acres but was under control when the department left at 7:20 p.m. because of dark conditions, Lyme Fire Company Chief John Evans said by phone.

WESTPORT - Police said a juvenile riding a scooter was seriously injured after a crash on Cobble Hill Road Wednesday evening. Police responded to the area at 6 p.m. after a crash involving an electric scooter was reported, Westport police said in a news release. Police said the juvenile was transported to Norwalk Hospital. Westport police, who said they were aided by Fairfield police, examined the scene and are trying to learn what caused the crash.

BRIDGEPORT - An East Lyme business owner who federal officials say underreported her income and that of her employees pleaded guilty in Bridgeport Wednesday. Analia Mountzoures, 48, pleaded guilty to aiding and assisting a false tax return, an offense that carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut Marc Silverman said in a news release.
