STAMFORD — Two people were injured Thursday after a car crashed into a building on Washington Boulevard, officials said. The crash happened in the morning and resulted in two people being transported to Stamford Hospital, according to a post on X by the Stamford Fire Department. NEW HAVEN — A former lawyer based in Stamford has been sentenced to a year in prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from clients, officials said. In a release, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut's office said William McCullough, a 63-year-old resident of Westerly, R.I., was sentenced Wednesday in New Haven to 12 months and one day of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for stealing more than $700,000 from clients of his law practice.

Robert Burroughs said in a news release that officers responded to the Birdseye boat ramp just before 1:30 p.m. for a report of a car that had driven down the ramp and started to submerge. WATERBURY — A Georgia woman was arrested in that state and extradited to Connecticut to answer charges that she defrauded Medicid of more than $44,000, officials say. Brittany Gresham, 36, of Senoia, Georgia, has been charged with first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community and conspiracy to do so as well as health insurance fraud and conspiracy to do so, officials from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said in a news release Wednesday.
