Men at Watertown bar arrested after fighting, pulling guns, police say

WATERTOWN - Town police have arrested four men in connection with a fight at Horatio's Bar last month in which two people drew firearms, officials said. Watertown police Det. Mark Conway said in a news release Tuesday that officers were called to the bar on the 1000 block of Main Street at about 9:30 p.m. on March 23. He said they arrived to find that multiple people were outside, with others having left the scene, and one man who was injured.
Riverside Street home being used for prostitution

WATERTOWN - Police arrested three people on Monday after an investigation found that a home on Riverside Street was being used for prostitution, officials said. Watertown police Det. Mark Conway said in a news release Tuesday that authorities were notified in March that there was suspicious activity going on at a home on the 400 block of Riverside Street. Conway said an extensive investigation was conducted into the residence, in which detectives found activity consistent with prostitution.
15-year-old from New Haven killed in shooting near Legion Avenue, police say

NEW HAVEN - A teenager died after a shooting near Legion Avenue Tuesday, according to the New Haven Police Department. In a 3:20 p.m. post to X, formerly Twitter, the department said officers were with a shooting victim. New Haven police Officer Christian Bruckhart said the shooting occurred on Greenwood Street near Legion and Sylvan avenues. At 4:20 p.m., Bruckhart confirmed the investigation was a homicide. Police later added that the victim was a 15-year-old boy.

NEW HAVEN - City firefighters rescued three people from a blaze on Chapel Street on Monday, officials said. New Haven Fire Chief of Operations Daniel Coughlin said crews were called to the 1300 block of the street just after 2 p.m. for a report of a structure fire in a three story residential building. Coughlin said firefighters arrived on-scene to find heavy smoke from the building and occupants calling for help from the windows.

ORANGE - A driver was injured during a crash on Derby Avenue on Sunday night, officials said. In a post on Facebook, the Orange Volunteer Fire Department said crews were called to a rollover motor vehicle accident around the start of Derby Avenue just after 8 p.m.Officials say the driver self-extricated and was transported to the hospital by American Medical Response to receive treatment for minor injuries. They said police are investigating the cause of the accident.

I-84 south lane in Cheshire reopens after crash, officials say

By Josh LaBella CHESHIRE - A crash on Interstate 84 south in town closed a lane Sunday evening, but it later reopened, officials say. The Connecticut Department of Transportation said the crash was reported around 7:15 p.m., but listed the highway as open about an hour later. Connecticut State Police said the collision involved three vehicles and caused minor injuries. They said wreckers were dispatched to the scene to tow the cars.

Connecticut State Police said the crash involved two people and happened at 2:47 p.m.They said two people involved were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Wreckers were dispatched for the vehicles and the Connecticut Department of Transportation was called about a damaged sign.
