IRVING, Texas - It’s a big day for FOX 4 News. The station officially broke ground on a new state-of-the-art television station in Irving. The new building on Royal Lane will be a two-story, 60,000-square-foot facility with a modern studio, a redesigned newsroom, and podcast suites. But it won’t look like your typical old-school TV station. It will broadcast via fiber. That means no TV tower or antennas and minimal satellite dishes.

Fire engine crash damages DART tracks, affects service in Downtown Dallas

DALLAS - Dallas Area Rapid Transit service is being impacted because of a crash involving a fire engine that veered off a bridge in Downtown Dallas. The crash happened Sunday morning on the I-345 Expressway, which connects I-45 and US-75, at Good Latimer Drive. Police said a Dallas Fire-Rescue engine hydroplaned, went off the overpass, and landed on DART tracks. Four firefighters on board were taken to the hospital. Three of them have since been released.

DART plans to raise some fares for first time in 6 years

DALLAS - DART is planning to raise fares for some riders for the first time in six years. This week, the transit agency proposed getting rid of the single-ride and part-day passes, moving to a standard 3-hour fare. Full-day passes would remain the same. Monthly passes would increase from $96 to $126. Reduced monthly passes would also increase from $48 to $63. The new fares come after DART studied and reviewed its policies last year.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police are expected to release new details about a woman accused of killing a 60-year-old man who was in her care. Regla Becquer was the owner of multiple unlicensed group homes in Tarrant County. She was arrested in February after police began investigating more than a dozen suspicious deaths at the group homes dating back to 2022. Last Thursday, Becquer was charged with the murder of 60-year-old Steven Kelly Pankratz.
