“Transportainment” Vehicles Downtown Will Have To Follow These New Rules

Some new rules were just put in place for party vehicles in Nashville. Under the new changes, party vehicles are banned from operating with 1 block of schools, daycares, healthcare facilities, and places of worship. They also can’t do passenger pick-ups or drop-offs in those zones. There are quiet zone rules in place so if a vehicle has to drive through a quiet zone, they must go silent.. no music or singing allowed. Read more on this HERE
Williamson Co & More Lay Out Their School Cell Phone Policies

We have a better idea now of what school will look like for students next year now that the cell phone policies have been put in place. On July 1st, the new law takes effect which addresses cell phone use during school hours and it looks like schools around Middle TN are starting to announce how they’ll tackle this. In Williamson County Schools, the board just decided that students will be allowed to have their phones on silent with them as long as they don’t use it during the day.
Downtown Nashville’s East Loop Will Close This Weekend

Take note of this for your weekend travels!The downtown East Loop will be closed starting Friday night and opening again on Monday morning. The loop is I-24 from I-65 to I-40. They’re resurfacing the road and repairing bridge expansion joints which is why they need to close it and detour traffic to the west loop. Metro Nashville Students Could Qualify For Free Tuition At Vanderbilt

This is great news for Metro Nashville students. Vanderbilt just launched a full-ride scholarship program for eligible students right here in town. The Nashville Vanderbilt Scholars program accepted 49 students in its’ first year and gave them a scholarship that covers all direct costs for their 4 years at Vanderbilt. Congratulations are in order for these 2 Tennessee women!Over the weekend, the new Miss Tennessee and Miss Tennessee Teen were crowned! Over 50 women showed off their talents, interview skills and gowns, but in the end, Miss Music City, Zoe Scheiderich was crowned Miss Tennessee. If you’re buying a lottery ticket in Middle Tennessee, you might as well take the drive to Spring Hill to get it. Believe it or not, the Publix down there on Main Street just sold ANOTHER lottery ticket worth more than a million bucks. Back on June 7th, a ticket was sold there that won over $37 million, now another was sold that is worth $4 million.
