A court in Israel has ruled that the genetic parents of a baby born following an IVF mix-up are her legal parents, and the child should be transferred from the custody of the birth parents, to them. The Family Court ordered that the two-year-old child, known as Sofia, be immediately registered as her genetic parents' child.

A AUS$2000 payment for out-of-pocket costs relating to IVF treatments was made available to all patients in New South Wales, Australia in January 2023. Now, it is being means-tested so that it is only available to families making less than AUS$116,000 a year. Chris Minns, Premier of New South Wales said his government had doubled the budget available for the scheme compared to the previous government, but more people were using it than had been expected.

Levothyroxine is a frequently prescribed drug in the United States, particularly for older people, as lower thyroid function can be associated with aging. Questions remain over how appropriately it is prescribed, however, as side effects can cause problems. A recent abstract presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America suggested that levothyroxine use in people with typical hormone ranges could lead to lower bone mass and density in older people, over time.
