The Clarksville Downtown Farmer’s Market is officially open for the season on Saturday, just in time for Mother’s Day. According to a news release, it all gets underway Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and will go until noon, with a focus on celebrating mothers with family-friendly activities, a Food Court with live music, food trucks and pony rides. Visitors will be able to peruse a strong line up of vendors, including 24 farmers, 75 artisan venders and 12 food and drink vendors.

Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are pleased to announce that highway fatalities declined in 2024 in Kentucky. That’s when compared to 2023, with the report showing highway fatalities decreased to 707 deaths in 2024, down 107 compared to 2023. This officially marks the lowest number of highway fatalities in the last ten years. Governor Beshear says, “These numbers mean fewer families have had to deal with such a painful loss, and its welcome news.

One of the bicyclists struck by a vehicle on Pembroke Road Monday has died, while the other remains in critical condition. As previously reported, the collision between the vehicle and four bicyclists happened Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of Pembroke Road, resulting in two of the cyclists being rushed to area hospitals and the arrest of 30-year-old Isaiah Edwards of Radcliff, Kentucky.

A Hopkinsville man is facing several charges after he allegedly nearly struck four individuals with a vehicle on Wednesday. According to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were speaking with some youth near a patrol vehicle that was parked with emergency lights activated in the southbound lane of Butler Road. That’s when a vehicle allegedly sped towards them, narrowly missing the law enforcement cruiser, along with the two deputies and two minors.
