United States Senator Rand Paul is not pleased with tariffs set down by the President, and he spoke on the Senate Floor recently about the matter. Calling tariffs essentially a ‘tax’ on the American people, Paul bucked at Congress not being included in the process, saying its against the Constitution for one person—in this case the President—being able to raise taxes on the citizens.

Flood recovery efforts continue across Christian County in the week following historic levels of flooding, where over a foot of rain fell in a period of three days. While a good portion of the flood waters have receded, that’s not the case for every neighborhood, and many people in Hopkinsville, Oak Grove and parts of the county are still struggling with flooded households and impassable roadways.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin a daytime work zone that includes lane restrictions in Trigg, Caldwell and Lyon counties starting on Monday. According to a news release, the work will take place along I-24 from the 64 mile-marker to the 52-mile-marker and will include milling and installing edge rumble strips in a roughly four-and-a-half-mile section each day, weather permitting.
