Hopkinsville Police arrested Mark Ware Friday night after he intentionally drove into a crowd of people, resulting in a woman being injured. According to Hopkinsville Police Department Public Information Officer Colette Marfil, Ware was driving on East 18th Street when he intentionally drove through a crowd of people. Afterward, Ware attempted to leave the scene, but was stopped by witnesses. Willie Haskins was struck by Ware’s car and had to be flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Hopkinsville Community College hosted two commencements and a nurse pinning ceremony on Friday to celebrate the hard work and dedication of its spring graduates. The nurse pinning ceremony took over the Thomas L. Riley Lecture Hall Friday morning. Twenty-eight graduates were celebrated for completing the registered nurse program. Then at noon and 3 p.m., commencement ceremonies celebrated graduates receiving associate degrees, diplomas and certificates.
