The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) said an outbreak has been confirmed in Montcalm County, which has three confirmed cases total as of Thursday, April 17. The first case in Montcalm County was previously reported on April 9.

    MIDLAND, Mich. (WNEM) – Consumers Energy said there is a planned power outage in Midland next week so crews can make upgrades to equipment in the area. Consumers said the overnight outage is planned for Thursday, April 24, from 11 p.m. that night until 7 a.m. the next morning in the area around the intersection of M-20 and Meridian Road (M-30). The outage will temporarily interrupt electricity to 1,956 homes and businesses in that area, Consumers said.

    GENESEE CO., Mich. (WNEM) – A Flint Township caregiver accused of physically assaulting a 93-year-old woman at an assisted living facility has pleaded no contest to two charges. In April 2024, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said Dontia Shawnra Arrington, who was a caregiver at Landings of Genesee Valley, assaulted a woman with severe dementia. Swanson released a video that allegedly showed Arrington getting rough with the victim after the victim had an accident.
