This Mother's Day, new moms in the York and Hanover area were able to celebrate the day with their "sweetest treats."Thanks to the volunteer efforts of UPMC staff members, newborns at UPMC Magee-Womens hospitals around the region were adorned in onesies and crocheted ice cream hats to celebrate Mother's Day. In images released by UPMC, a newborn baby at UPMC Hanover is seen in a special ice cream cone onesie and handmade ice cream hat to commemorate Mother's Day in 2025.

Penn Township Police are warning area residents about a reported police impersonation phone scam, they said in a release. The department shared that on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, they received a report that a Penn Township resident had received a phone call from a man claiming to be a police officer. During that call, the man told the resident that the resident "had a warrant out for their arrest and needed to immediately wire money" or else they would be arrested the next day.
