Below, a roundup of things I wore repeatedly, wished for passionately, and Googled way too much this month. There’s no paywall on this one, so the whole thing is free for all subscribers to read. The weather was all over the place in New York this month, but on warmer days, I pretty much lived in some variation of this outfit.

I had a million newsletter ideas I wanted to publish before summer and quite literally not enough calendar space to share them all before my maternity leave, so I’m pivoting to the next best thing: a comprehensive clean-out of all the summer wardrobe heroes I’ve been hoarding across Etsy, eBay, The RealReal, and Poshmark.

Clinically, the postpartum period is defined as the first six to eight weeks after giving birth. In my experience, that timeline feels almost laughably short. Yes, there’s an initial, acute stage of recovery—but after giving birth to my son, my body, brain, and sense of self felt deeply postpartum for months.

Good morning! Keeping this intro short since I am running out to soccer class with my son—who cares far more about the bus ride we take to get there than he does about the activity itself. But still, it’s cute.

When I was pregnant for the first time, I couldn’t wait to start putting together my baby registry. The actual process, however, was a crash course in decision fatigue. Turns out that sorting through a million options and trying to make all the right choices for an experience I’d never had was… a little overwhelming—to say the least. I remain forever grateful to the veteran parents who shared their Google docs of product recs or offered to review my draft registry before I sent it out.

As with prior posts in my “Realistic Lookbook”series, today’s letter features the 15 outfits I plan to wear on repeat over the course of the season at hand. These aren’t hypothetical looks styled just for photos, but the real, recurring uniforms I’ll be relying on this spring, factoring in the practicalities of my day-to-day life, the throughline of my personal style, and—in this particular installment—the unique constraints of dressing while pregnant.

Last summer, on a hot July afternoon, the creative director behind one of my favorite sleepwear brands sat on a sofa in my living room, and we sketched a small capsule of nightgowns together while my son napped in the next room. That woman was If Only If’s Emily Campbell, and that small capsule of nightgowns officially launched on their site (!!!!) this week. I’m so excited to finally be able to tell you about each of these pieces and what makes them special.

I can only assume the final months of this pregnancy will speed by at an even faster clip than they already have been, in direct contrast to the pace at which I am personally moving these days. (I always thought “waddling” was an exaggerated Hollywood cliché until I experienced its inevitability firsthand). The mental math is different this time around, though.

I just got back from tagging along on one of Austin’s work trips to London, which we extended with some personal travel over the weekend to the countryside in Hampshire. Today, I’m sharing a little recap of my time away. We were there for a pretty short period of time, and I am the pregnant mom of a toddler, so taking advantage of the opportunity for rest was my biggest priority.

It happens every year: the first truly grim, soaking rain of spring, when it’s finally too warm to wear the puffer coat you’ve relied on in recent inclement weather and too wet to get by with just a jacket and an umbrella. It’s time for a raincoat — ideally a good one. My criteria for what I would consider a “good” raincoat are as follows:It should be waterproof or water-resistant.
