    BRITAIN'S two busiest stations will shut for a total of nine days - sparking rail chaos for millions. London's Liverpool Street station is shut for "major engineering work" until January 2. All services will be suspended while workmen replace worn-down roof panels. They will also add more ticket gates to ease congestion in the often rammed station. All Elizabeth line, Greater Anglia, London Overground, c2c and Stansted Express trains to, from or through the hub will be affected.

    BRITS have been warned not to travel due to "dense fog" covering huge swathes of the UK. Millions are on the move today - with 3.8million drivers expected to hit the road. Motorists should only travel between Kilgetty and Red Roses in south east Wales if "absolutely necessary", local cops said. And the Met Office said murky fog patches could settle on roads across the country. The RAC said Brits will make a whopping 3.8million road trips today as they head home from Christmas getaways.

    THE first person in the UK to have all of her major organs transplanted has died aged 46 - more than a decade after her ground-breaking operations. Allison Angell suffered from cystic fibrosis and had a new liver, heart, lungs and kidney in a series of operations over 11 years. She died on December 18 in the cystic fibrosis ward at Llandough Hospital near her home in Dinas Powys, south Wales. Allison won a Pride of Britain award in 2010 for her bravery in fighting her condition.
