Across the world, the liquid gold has become actual gold. It used to be that booze was how you wasted your fortune. Now, it’s how the fortune is made. In 2019, whisky topped the Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index – a survey of luxury asset classes and their market performances.

The great thing about my job is that I get to travel to incredible places throughout the world. In the past year alone, I have been whisked off to Japan, to the US, and to some of Europe’s most revered cultural cities. But, one place I didn’t expect to go to was Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city – and a place that’s known, to outsiders, for three things: a 100-year-old roller coaster; an important 19th-century seaport; and a series of leafy boat canals.

For the Gentleman’s Journal Spring/Summer ’23 issue, we jetted to the famed coastal town of Saint-Tropez. Captured in May, when the area oozes the charm for which it’s renowned, the shoot showcases models Harry Gozett and O’Shea Robertson – who wore relaxed shirts and soft tailoring while channeling their inner Alain Delon – as they scooted around town in a Mini Moke and headed to the Cap de Saint-Tropez via speed boat, before retiring for dinner at the iconic Sénéquier restaurant in the port.
