The Met Gala 2025 dress code is "Tailored to you", nodding to the Costume Institute's theme for the year of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. It is the first Met Gala theme in over 20 years to focus on menswear and it was inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The stars in attendance, from Colman Domingo to Lewis Hamilton (both of whom were co-chairs), played with the dress code in their own way.
