The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has condemned the recent attacks on Ruwi, Manguna, Daffo, and Josho and Hurti communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incidents as senseless. Chairman of the forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, said the attacks which reportedly claimed several lives and left scores injured, mostly women and children, is a threat to the unity and stability of the region.

The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) says it has sealed off 100 pharmaceutical stores and arrested seven vendors for various regulatory violations during an operation in Gombe State. PCN Head of Enforcement, Dr Suleiman Chiroma, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Gombe. He said out of total 144 premises visited, 100 were found to be non-compliant and were sealed for various offences which include, non-renewal of license, operating illegal premises, clinical practice among others.

The Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has mourned the passing of prominent Islamic scholar and preacher, Dr. Idris Abdulaziz Dutsen Tanshi. Dr Tanshi died in the late hours of Thursday in Bauchi. In a statement by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Governor Yahaya said he received the demise of the prominent Islamic scholar with deep sadness.

The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of two children following a stampede at the Gombe Central Eid Ground on Sunday. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Buhari Abdullahi, identified the victims as Aisha Salisu Ahmed (4) and Maryam Abdullahi Gwani (4), stating that they were pronounced dead by medical personnel while receiving treatment at a hospital.

In a statement issued Friday, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, described the attack as a gross violation of human rights, stressing that extrajudicial violence is entirely unacceptable and must be unequivocally condemned with the utmost severity.
