The command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident said five persons, including two male and three female, were pronounced dead by medical personnel, while eight others were responding to treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe and General Hospital, Billiri. He said that the lone crash, which involved a heavy-duty Truck, happened along the Gombe-Yola Road around 6.30am on Monday.

The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has condemned the recent attacks on Ruwi, Manguna, Daffo, and Josho and Hurti communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incidents as senseless. Chairman of the forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, said the attacks which reportedly claimed several lives and left scores injured, mostly women and children, is a threat to the unity and stability of the region.

The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) says it has sealed off 100 pharmaceutical stores and arrested seven vendors for various regulatory violations during an operation in Gombe State. PCN Head of Enforcement, Dr Suleiman Chiroma, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Gombe. He said out of total 144 premises visited, 100 were found to be non-compliant and were sealed for various offences which include, non-renewal of license, operating illegal premises, clinical practice among others.
