Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba State has opened up on the circumstances surrouding the killing of his sister, Atsi kefas, reportedly shot by kidnappers along Wukari-Chinkai road last year. Kefas revealed that a police escort attached to his mother’s escorts shot and killed his sister while travelling from Jalingo to Abuja, along the Wukari-Chinkai Road in 2024.

Hundreds of students escaped by whiskers when the classrooms in which they were sitting for the Senior Secondrary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) caved in on Wednesday. The incident happened at Government Secondary School, Namne, Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State. The classrooms collapsed on them during a heavy rainfall which was accompanied by wind storm.

Troops under 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army/ Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), in collaboration with troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN, have killed two bandits and recovered 1000 rustled cows in Taraba State. Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Oni Olubodunde, said in a statement he issued on Friday that the killing of the two bandits and recovery of the rustled cows was as a result of credible intelligence report.

Hundreds of dry season rice farmers in Taraba State have expressed concerns over the crash in the price of paddy even as harvests have been good. Our correspondent in Jalingo reports that the price of paddy has fallen from N50,000 to N37 000 in the state as farmers started harvesting their crops from the irrigation fields across the six local government areas of the state.
