Apr. 12—MU fine arts department works with Wyngate seniors on bouquet projectsROME TOWNSHIP — On Tuesday, seniors gathered at the Wyngate at RiversEdge, to show the results of a project they have been working on for the last month and a half. They had taken part in a six-week workshop, provided by Marshall University's fine arts department. Under teaching artist Barb Lavalley Benton, they completed a collaborative project, and worked on individual "life bouquet" pieces.

Apr. 10—COAL GROVE — The ground may have been a bit muddy, but there was a break from the rain just long enough on Saturday for families to come out for River Run Health Care's East egg hunt at Paul Porter Park. The park was crowded with dozens of families for the event, which featured age specific egg hunts, Easter basket giveaways, a meeting with the Easter Bunny and bag lunches for children. River Run Health Care has locations in Coal Grove, Ironton and Portsmouth.

Apr. 9—Lawrence County Museum opens for seasonThe Lawrence County Museum opened for their season on Sunday, and this will be a special one for them. This year marks 100 years since the founding of the Lawrence County Historic Society, who oversees the museum, and the year's activities will reflect that milestone. This was the case on Sunday, when the typical opening day had guests portraying historic figures from Ironton. One was Mark McCown, who was dressed as Ironton Austin Kelly.
