    PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The Kentucky State Police are investigating after a body was found in a creek in the Elkhorn City community of Pike County. The discovery was made on Wednesday, June 4, according to the Elkhorn City Police Department. KSP troopers and investigators responded to the scene along Big Branch Road. The body of Adam Stanley, 48, of Haysi, Virginia, was found in the water, troopers say. Stanley had previously been reported missing to law enforcement in Virginia.

    FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSAZ) - Kentucky is easing some of the pain at the pump. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced on Thursday that beginning on July 1, the state gas tax drop 1.4 cents per gallon. Beshear says that is a 12 percent decrease over a two-year period, taking the tax from 30.1 cents to 26.4 cents. “I know every penny counts, and that these savings can really add up,” Gov. Beshear said.

    DICKSON, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A humane society in Tennessee is looking for a man accused of dumping a dog on Monday night. The Humane Society of Dickson County said the man dumped a German Shepherd in “distressing conditions” overnight. The man reportedly arrived at the shelter in a white Ford F-150 truck with a bottomless wire crate in the truck bed. The dog was inside the crate.
