The National Weather Service office in Sacramento is preparing to operate with "critically reduced staffing" as Northern California transitions from the rainy season to wildfire season. NWS Sacramento provides vital weather forecasts and alerts for the entire Sacramento Valley, the adjacent Foothills and parts of the Sierra. These staff reductions are local impacts of federal cuts implemented by the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

We don’t see tornadoes often in Northern California, but they do make news from time to time. KCRA 3 meteorologist @KCRAHeather looks back at two tornadoes that caused a lot of damage in April 1988. Learn more here: https://t.co/qfYtPQSVtE https://t.co/XtmnX2seEk

Signs of summer in the desert Southwest. Phoenix will likely set records the next couple of days. Northern California will be running warmer than normal for the next week, but no records within reach. I'll see you starting at 4 on KCRA. https://t.co/MQSxyPNLFO
