Kent Police officers were called after concerns were raised for the welfare of a child on the M25. The "young child" had been spotted on the hard shoulder of the busy motorway, near Brasted. The incident happened on Monday, April 7. A member of the public assisted the child who was reported to have gained access to the hard shoulder from a nearby property.

A man has been kicked in the face during an assault in Maidstone. The incident happened at around 6.30pm on April 2 while the victim was walking his dog along Spot Lane. It was reported he was followed by an unknown man who was shouting and swearing at him and trying to trip him up. He was followed for about half a mile, before being pushed over in Tower Lane where he was then kicked in the face. The victim went to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police have launched an investigation into reports of a woman being sexually assaulted on a bus in north Kent. The incident happened as the victim was travelling on the 480 bus service between Gravesend and Dartford at around 5pm on February 25. It is alleged a man, who was unknown to the victim, touched her over her clothing and made lewd comments before getting off the vehicle in Dartford High Street.

A third pre-inquest review hearing into the death of one-year-old Archie Squire is due to take place next week. The toddler, who had an undiagnosed heart condition, died on November 23, 2023, following two cardiac arrests. Archie was reviewed in the A&E and Urgent Care Centre at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (QEQM) hospital in Margate more than 10 times during his short life, with symptoms including constipation, breathlessness and failure to thrive.

A medical worker quit her job and suffers from PTSD following the death of 17-year-old Emily Stokes at a Dreamland gig in Margate, an inquest has heard. Emily Stokes attended the drum and bass gig on June 29 of last year with her friends when she started feeling ill. With a heart rate of 200bpm and temperatures of more than 40 degrees, she was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother hospital where she later died.
