One of the earliest records I bought, when I more or less decided I was retiring from CDs, was Unwound’s Leaves Turn Inside You. Readers might remember I gave it a perfect 10 (or not, I don’t expect people to remember something I did nearly a decade ago). But it is, in my ears/eyes, a perfect record, the pinnacle of the group, and a culmination of a decade-long career that found them delivering their most challenging and satisfying material all in one go.
