The last time England played Andorra, Jadon Sancho started and provided a series of fine crosses from the left, including two assists. Sancho earned plenty of praise for that performance four years ago, albeit against opponents high of altitude if not rankings. But he’s not played for England since. Sancho’s not even in the England debate, let alone squad any more. While some of his friends train out in Girona in the heat, Sancho remains out in the international cold.

If Chelsea do sign Liam Delap they have to understand that he is a good finisher, improving promisingly, but far from the finished article yet. Still only 22, Delap will mature into an accomplished centre-forward but is still developing. He needs patience from the club and the support as well as service from his old Manchester City and England Under-21s friend, Cole Palmer.
