    Papua New Guinean Hilda Mondo was a stay-at-home mum with a deep interest in fashion. Little did she realise her hobby would be transformed into a business, with her designs used on Pacific runways in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Ms Mondo was in Fiji in 2022 when she volunteered to work backstage at the Fiji Fashion Show. The next year she responded to an ad for classes which led her to submit an entry for the Fiji Fashion Week.

Papua New Guinean born Australian woman Renik Normeng imports and sells the products at her 'PNG Shop' in Perth.

    Cocoa is one of Papua New Guinea's most important cash crops, behind only coffee and oil palm in terms of export earnings. Typically grown in coastal areas, farmers in the highlands are having a go at cultivating the crop. As part of efforts to promote the crop, Milne Bay province hosted the 4th National Cocoa Excellence Show, where international judges sampled the best PNG had to offer.

Last week Papua New Guinea's government announced that it had reached an agreement with the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) over who would be appointed as the moderator in the negotiations over the province's determined push for full independence.
