Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has met with Pope Leo XIV and formally invited the newly inaugurated pontiff to Australia in 2028. The pair discussed conflicts around the world and the pope blessed the rosary beads of Mr Albanese's mother, who was a staunch Catholic. Mr Albanese is now on his way to Singapore after his visit to the Vatican.
