The systematic review undertaken in this study adhered to the PRISMA guidelines [Citation19], and its protocol was registered with Prospero (CRD42023420089). Eight scientific databases, namely Medline, PsychInfo, ClinicalTrials.gov, CENTRAL, CINAHL, ICTRP, ETHOS, and EMBASE, were scrutinized (from January 2000 to July 2023) to compile a comprehensive body of evidence. Our systematic search strategy thoroughly examined all eight selected databases, employing comprehensive search terms.

ABSTRACTIntroduction This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving pharmacological interventions for improving sleep in people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Methods A systematic literature search in eight databases from January 2000 to July 2023 focusing on RCTs that compared a pharmacological intervention with a placebo for enhancing sleep in people with AD.
