Data from the report served as the foundation for MedCruise President Theodora Riga's presentation at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami last month. Among the findings, in 2024, the total number of transit passenger movements in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas was 26,115,387. The total number of homeporting passenger movements was 9,861,214.

Ports of Stockholm inaugurated its second shore power facility yesterday when it supplied electricity to Viking Jupiter. Sweden's second shore power facility for cruise vessels was established after Ports of Stockholm inaugurated the first one in September, when Mein Schiff 7 became the first vessel to connect at Stadsgården 167. The new facility at Stadsgården 160 will enable approximately 50% of Stockholm's visiting cruise ships to connect to shore power while docked.

Hankyu Travel International in Osaka will charter Ponant's Le Jacques-Cartier for three voyages between March and April 2027. This marks the first time a Japanese travel agency has chartered a Ponant vessel specifically for the inbound market. HTI, in collaboration with the cruise line, is working on voyages which focus on the Seto Inland Sea.
