    Describe the first time you saw a cruise ship. The first cruise ship I ever encountered was a floating hotel in Kuwait, where I spent my childhood. It had a rich history, originally built with a gross tonnage of 15,366 for Grace Line from Newport News. It was also known as Stella Polaris in 1972 under Oceanic Sun Line, then became the Kuwait Marriott Hotel in 1980 under Marriott Hotels, and later the Ramada al Salem Hotel in 1989.
