After scaffolding and coverings are removed, 29 restored trusses and a series of ornamental floral-effect joins will be revealed. The search for a former firefighter from Beverley who went missing is continuing as police appeal for witnesses. Richard Mason, 55, was last seen on CCTV heading north along the banks of the river Hull in the direction of High Eske nature reserve at 09:37 GMT on 30 December, police said. He was described as 6ft (1.8m) tall with dark brown hair, a bushy beard and is believed to be wearing a tan coat, dark denim trousers with a dark hat.

A farmer used a digger to rescue his grandparents from their flooded home. Ryan Wesley drove them to safety in the digger's bucket after the couple, who are in their 80s, escaped through a bedroom window of their bungalow in Billingborough, Lincolnshire, on Monday. Along with her father, Dean, he also rescued a pregnant woman and elderly people before the water got too deep for the digger to operate.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) said it is "concerned" about potential closures at Goole and District Hospital and claims it only found out about the proposal via media reports. Several hospital staff members told the BBC they had been called to a meeting on Friday and were told a number of wards would be closing in the new year. RCN regional director Sarah Dodsworth has called for a "meaningful consultation process" on any potential options for the hospital.

South Kesteven District Council's (SKDC) bin crews have been named the most improved performer at the national APSE Performance Networks Awards. A company has been fined £600,000 after it failed to manage the risk of legionella bacteria in water systems at a prison, which led to a prisoner's death. Graham Butterworth died on 5 December 2017 after contracting legionnaires' disease while serving a prison sentence at HMP Lincoln. Amey Community Limited, which provided facilities management services at the prison, pleaded guilty to a health and safety offence.

Five people have been arrested after a man died and 20 others became ill after taking what is believed to be a contaminated batch of the drug spice. Officers were called by paramedics following the death of a man from a suspected overdose in the Pryme Street car park in Hull on Monday. Humberside Police said others are believed to have fallen ill on Monday and Tuesday. Four men, aged 27 to 46, and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, the force added.
