    The Ojai Unified School District’s Flag Football League will hold their season finale championship game at Ranger stadium on Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m. Team Ale, who is 7-2 this season, will face the undefeated (9-0) squad of Team Eli. This year’s league comprises six teams, each with seven or eight players from fifth through eighth grades.

    Ojai Valley School’s varsity baseball Head Coach Hank Pankratz said earlier this season that the Spuds focused on winning each inning. The strategy proved so successful that OVS ended their regular Omega League season as the undefeated champions with an 8-0 record. Led by senior Captains Ben Scordamaglia and Keiran Walsh, as well as younger powerhouses sophomore Renji Hanai and freshman Archer Moller, the Spuds entered the post-season playoffs with an 11-5 overall record.

    Nordhoff junior Melina Seider worked hard in the pool all year – both at her Ojai Heatwaves Swim Club and with the Rangers varsity swim team. Even to qualify for the 2025 CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships in the 500-yard Freestyle event is a special accomplishment. Seider is the first female Ranger to qualify, definitely since the state competition was reorganized to include all high schools in California in 2015, and the second for Nordhoff after her brother Quin Seider.

The Ojai QuickStart Tennis (QST) program, founded in 2009, offers third through fifth grade local elementary students an opportunity to learn the basic skills and love of the game.
