1. Introduction and ContextConsiderable research on plazas, streetscapes, and parks has shown that successful public places are functional, inviting, cared-for, and well-used [1,2,3]. Specifically, “successful public spaces are ones that are responsive to the needs of their users; are democratic in their accessibility; and are meaningful for the larger community and society” [4] (p. 1).
