The electrochemical reduction process has garnered growing attention in wastewater treatment owing to its potential for environmental remediation and resource recovery. This process is esteemed for its sustainability, high efficiency, and operational simplicity [1], [2], [3], [4]. One key component of the electrochemical reduction process is electro-generated atomic hydrogen (H*), which is vigorous reductant (up to −2.31 V vs. standard hydrogen electrode, SHE) [5], [6].
