Abstract:The shear mechanical properties of rock joints are crucial in assessing the stability and safety of rock structures, including slopes, rock dams, and tunnels. The yield stress serves as a pivotal point that distinguishes the linear and non-linear mechanical characteristics of rock joints. Due to its significance in risk monitoring and safety evaluation, this paper first provides an overview of the commonly employed methods for identifying the yield stress.
