    Are websites a metaphor for human life? Does the baggage associated with maintenance, sap the energy required to create new content? The long and short of it is that if you can’t read these words on the Viodi website, there is still an issue with excessive Inode (Index-node) usage. Just like natural human wear and tear, this excessive Inode usage (and other bad stuff) happens with a 23+-year-old website where content is prioritized over the organization and optimization of said content.

    Editor’s note: Another dip back into the archive this week, though a more recent one than some others. This Yarn arrived in 2015 and celebrates one of the essential, overlooked tools of the kitchen. When I think of my two grandmothers, Inga (Ostrem) Sherpe and Julia (Wang) Hanson, I always picture them with their aprons on. Without an apron, they weren’t fully dressed. The only time that apron came off is when they went to church, and looking back, it’s a wonder they didn’t wear them to church also.
