California recently imposed new mandatory disclosure
requirements related to social compliance audits.
On September 22, 2024, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed
A.B. 3234 into law. The bill adds new, specific—and
mandatory—disclosure requirements related to social
compliance audits to the California Labor Code.

On May 30, 2024, Vermont became the first state to pass a law that requires energy companies to pay for
part of the damages from extreme weather events. Under the

With Assembly Bill A3556C, New York joins a growing list of
states considering or enacting broad bans on the sale and
distribution of products containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl
substances ("PFAS").
NY Assembly Bill A3556C would amend state law
to prohibit the sale of a wide range of products containing
intentionally added PFAS starting January 1, 2026.
