I’m not going to share the bigger picture here, but rather how it related to what I do as a content creator for a sports newsletter and as a fan.

THE OPENER: This is the first week in quite a while that one or two major stories aren’t pushing aside the rest of Minnesota’s sports news. So we’re taking off in many different directions because lots of teams and athletes are still giving us something to talk about, ranging from Byron Buxton’s spectacular stretch to a 42-game unbeaten streak to a historic moment in college sports.

THE OPENER: We’re recovering well from the gloom that settled over us when the Timberwolves were smacked out of the NBA playoffs last week. The Lynx are blazing, Jhoan Duran’s pitches are smoking and we have no shortage of stuff to keep our attention. This week’s Sports Take has hockey moves, horses to play, a Minneapolis connection to some top NFL quarterbacks and 700 books from a genre I didn’t know existed until a few days ago. WINNERS, WINNERS, WINNERS: We’re not used to this, right? The Wolves won four in a row to advance in the NBA playoffs, the Twins have won 11 in a row, the Frost won three straight to take their PWHL series and Minnesota United was on a three-game winning streak until Wednesday’s loss to Houston. Add it up: That’s a 21-1 record.

New Sports Take: Good thing we have women's sports -- @PWHL_Minnesota , @minnesotalynx & @MNAuroraFC -- to offset the disastrous end to the #Timberwolves season. Plus conflicting media reports: Does anyone know what's really up with the #MNTwins sale? https://t.co/Ys6Lzod5ya

New Sports Take: Spin the numbers right and Minnesota's teams are on a 21-1 roll. Check out the Julius Randle apology form I found, an ill-timed headline about a #Twins player, @JaysPlaysStrib's #Preakness picks & wisdom gained from 3 local soccer experts https://t.co/DzqbexxAMB
