The Minnesota Star Tribune
The Star Tribune is Minnesota's biggest newspaper. It began with the launch of the Minneapolis Tribune in 1867, followed by the Minneapolis Daily Star in 1920. In the 1930s and 1940s, the city's rival newspapers came together under one owner, resulting in the Star becoming the morning paper and the Tribune serving as the evening paper.

By JAKE OFFENHARTZ Early in the campaign, Lopez said he'd met with a 100-year-old woman in the neighborhood of East Williamsburg, where he grew up. The woman, a former city employee, hadn't heard of Mamdani when Lopez showed up. By the end of their conversation, she said she wanted to contribute to his campaign in any way she could. ''Canvassing is about bringing ideas to people that can make them feel like they're part of a broader political project,'' Lopez said.
