How many times have you heard this refrain from wanna be professional baseball players, “I would give my right arm to play Major League Baseball.”C.C. Sabathia’s left arm provided him with 251 wins and 3,093 strikeouts over a fabulous 19-year career that officially ended on the mound when he couldn’t physically pitch anymore but ended up with a spot in Cooperstown.

The Knicks made it hard on themselves, but they found a way to get a win over a gritty Philadelphia 76ers team that was severely shorthanded. Jalen Brunson scored 8 of his game high 38 points in overtime as the Knicks scored a 125-119 win at the Wells Fargo Center Wednesday night. The Knicks made all five of their shots and all five of their free throws in the extra session to avoid what would’ve been a disheartening loss to a team that has gotten used to playing without Joel Embiid.

Another disappointing loss for the Rangers in a season filled with disappointing losses. Jamie Benn scored at 2:17 of overtime to give the Dallas Stars a come from behind 5-4 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden last night. Alexis Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck each scored two goals but the defensively deficient Rangers blew two leads as they gave up five goals for the fifth time in the last seven games and the 13th time this season.

The Orlando Magic are missing four key players and rank as one of the worst offensive teams in the league but that was not the case last night. Cole Anthony scored 24 points and Orlando’s defense smothered the Knicks in a disheartening 103-94 loss at Madison Square Garden last night. It was the Knicks’ third straight loss following their 9-game winning streak. The Magic were without Paolo Banchero, Franz and Morris Wagner and Jalen Suggs but they’ve adapted to playing without their best players.
