NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Four suspects who were involved in a deadly shootout between rival gang members on Jefferson Street during Tennessee State University's homecoming celebrations on October 12 went before a judge for a pre-trial hearing Thursday. An investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department determined five people started shooting at each other and three of those involved were wounded and hospitalized.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man has now been charged in the death of Smokin Thighs' owner Matthew Carney after he died from a hit-and-run crash at his restaurant. Police said Ulises Martinez has been charged with criminal homicide and evidence tampering. They said Martinez and an “associate” were stealing items from Carney’s pickup truck outside of Smokin’ Thighs. Police said Carney confronted the two and that’s when he was hit by their truck. Martinez's bond amount hasn't been listed yet.

A bill in the Tennessee legislature will soon make it illegal for first cousins to marry each other. Largely, lawmakers got behind the effort, except one Brentwood Republican who argued against outlawing it. In total, he was one of two who voted against it. NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two new videos have been released showing missing 22-year-old Riley Strain stumbling down the sidewalk. Watch in the player above. According to Metro Police, the University of Missouri senior was kicked out of Luke Bryan’s bar on Broadway Friday night. Police say friends reported him missing the following day. His parents say the Springfield, Missouri native was in town with 50 of his fraternity brothers, and not one of them left the bar to make sure he was okay.
