Pleasant girls tennis met at East Lake Park on Monday night and it ended up being a wonderful night for the Trojans. Fairfield picked up a sweeping victory over Mt. Pleasant, winning all nine matches. Individually, Poojita Mukadam was a winner for the Trojans in the number one matchup. Mukadam defeated Bethany Drury 8-2.

Pleasant boys soccer has gotten the better of Washington. Six years to be exact. The last time the Panthers defeated the Demons was in 2019. On Monday, the Panthers ended that streak with a 4-0 shutout of the Demons. It was a stellar defensive showing by the Panthers, who gave up just three shots on goal.

FORT MADISON — Southeast Conference boys golf teams gathered at Fort Madison’s Sheaffer Memorial Golf Park on Thursday night for the second conference invitational of the year. It was a another big showing for Washington, who took the team title for the second straight time this season. The Demons posted 163 points for the top spot.

The Panthers stole two singles’ matches from the Pioneers but couldn’t find another victory. Mt. Pleasant did get two additional points after a pair of forfeits from the Pioneers. Maharishi got wins from Ria Altynska-Ross, Aparajita Kalra and Joyce (Jiusi) Wang.
