Disrespect. That was the term Josh Minott used to describe his basketball journey thus far. Entering the University of Memphis as a top-100 high school prospect, Minott had high expectations for himself. But given the team’s roster construction and with Minott’s shooting inefficiencies, he struggled to find a consistent role on the Tigers. Even with his limited role, Minott showed flashes of elite defense and finishing. However, he averaged only 6.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

After seeing how the Rudy Gobert trade worked out in Year 1, many fans were ready to move on from Tim Connelly by the trade deadline. However, he’s been working his way back into the good graces of Minnesota Timberwolves fans slowly but surely. Connelly has been making moves that have greatly improved Minnesota’s roster. First, it was the Mike Conley trade, then re-signing Naz Reid. Those two moves have taken Connelly off the fans’ hot seat, and he’s doubled down with a strong free agency.

Damn is the name of my favorite Kendrick Lamar album. It’s also the first word I uttered following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game-82 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Already on the wrong side of a Brandon Ingram scoring barrage, rising star Jaden McDaniels exited the game with only 44.9 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Frustrated after picking up his second personal foul, McDaniels threw his right fist against the wall of the team tunnel, which may have broken his right hand.

When the 17.5-underdog Portland Trail Blazers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves at home, it cemented the Wolves on the wrong side of history, again. The 17.5-point upset was the largest against the spread upset since books began recording it in 1995. Oddly enough, this doesn’t feel out of the norm for Wolves fans. Wolves fans are no strangers to losing, which is why the Jimmy Butler-led Wolves beating the Denver Nuggets in Game 82 to eke into the playoffs felt so good.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker arrived in the Twin Cities as an add-on to the Mike Conley trade. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves have put him in a scoring role after trading D’Angelo Russell to the Los Angeles Lakers. Alexander-Walker has been traded four times in his four years in the league. The defense-oriented wing had yet to find himself a home after starting out slow with the New Orleans Pelicans, but he may have found one here.

With just 19 games left in the season, the Minnesota Timberwolves sit in a precarious place in the overpacked middle of the Western Conference standings. All things considered, a 31-32 record is pretty good given that Karl-Anthony Towns, an All-NBA player coming off one of the best seasons in his career, has missed all but 21 games. Anthony Edwards has done an impeccable job taking the wheel and keeping the bus on the road to success.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are Anthony Edwards’ team now. D’Angelo Russell is in Los Angeles, leaving Edwards without another offensive co-star until Karl-Anthony Towns returns from injury. Leading up to last Thursday’s trade deadline, the Minnesota Timberwolves were in trade rumors surrounding D’Angelo Russell. Despite my desire to see the Wolves stand pat and hold onto their current roster, they dealt Russell to the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal. A trade that landed Minnesota Mike Conley Jr., Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and three second-round picks from the Utah Jazz. Immediately, I was very displeased with the trade due to several factors.
