    A 25-year-old Saint Clair man was jailed in Schuylkill County Prison after police said he stabbed another man in the borough. Roberto J. Martir-Crespo, of 127 N. Second St., was charged by Saint Clair police after they were dispatched to the scene of an incident early Friday outside a restaurant on Hancock Street. According to their criminal complaint, police said they saw nothing suspicious when they first arrived at the scene around 1:40 a.m. Friday.

    POTTSVILLE — Thousands of racers will converge on Mahantongo Street on Saturday for the 13th annual Yuengling Light Lager Jogger. The 5K, open to runners and walkers of all levels, will start at 9 a.m. at the Yuengling brewery, 501 Mahantongo St.As of Monday, there were fewer than 400 out of 3,500 spots open for the race, according to lagerjogger.com. The race — which is mostly on Mahantongo, Norwegian and Howard streets — will have two water stations and will end at the brewery.

    CRESSONA — The Cressona Pool will be closed in 2025 as the borough looks for ways to fund vital repairs. The borough’s community swimming pool — built in 1958 — was found to have heaved over the winter and sustained some cracks, resulting in unexpected expenses for the borough, according to Cressona borough council President Linda Walinsky. The borough had already set aside some money for pool maintenance, but it will now have to fund additional repairs, she said.
