The Express & Star took a closer look at the national figures to find the highest rates in our region. Walsall Healthcare had the highest rate of medically fit patients not discharged in the week ending February 9 - with 83.5%. It was followed by University Hospitals Birmingham (83.7%), Royal Wolverhampton (58.8%) and Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital (57.7%). The hospitals with the lowest figures for the are were Dudley Group (39.5%) and Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals (36.8%).

Presenter Zoe Ball left her BBC Radio 2 show with her largest audience for nearly two years, according to figures. The radio host, 54, fronted her final breakfast show for the station back in December after six years in the role. She had announced her departure weeks prior after an extended absence over the summer, which came following the death of Zoe's late mother Julia Peckham in April last year.
