The 2005-06 season was the year my training wheels came off as a reporter. Prior to that, I spent two seasons covering the Senators on television for Sportsnet, but my role was somewhat limited. Whenever the network would broadcast a Senators game, they would bring either Darren Dreger or Christine Simpson in from Toronto to serve as the rink side reporter. I was stapled to the role of news reporter.

I cannot adequately express my happiness and joy for Sens fans tonight. You’ve endured so much over the past eight years. This really feels like the start of something fun and special.

This is so difficulty to digest. When I broke in with Sportsnet and did my first rinkside hosting gig, Millsy was on the crew as our analyst. The friendliest, most humble person you’d meet. Always smiling and happy at the rink. Sending love and condolences to his family. ❤️
