    Hunnu Air has become the first Mongolian Embraer E195-E2 operator, just a day after it was announced that the country’s aviation regulator awarded the aircraft type certification. The new E195-E2 is the first of two that is being delivered to the airline by the Fort Lauderdale-based lessor Azorra as part of its firm orderbook with Embraer.  Details surrounding the new arrival were announced on April 17, 2025, following a special ceremony attended by executives from Hunnu Air.

    Astronomers, led by the University of Cambridge, have used data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to detect the fingerprints of alien life in the atmosphere of a distant planet.  Scientists from the university confirmed on April 17, 2025, that possible signs of life were found around the exoplanet K2-18b, which lies 124 light years away in the constellation of Leo.

    Over two dozen students are taking legal action against United Airlines and its Arizona-based flight school, United Aviate Academy, for “consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices”. The lawsuit alleges that United Airlines made “grand promises” to “lure unsuspecting students” onto a “woefully under resourced” pilot training program.

    A NASA-owned S-3B Viking aircraft that helped support research missions for over a decade will be displayed at the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum in Jacksonville, Florida. The S-3B Viking, which formed part of the US Navy fleet, was originally designed by Lockheed Martin as an anti-submarine warfare aircraft and were operational during the Gulf War and in Afghanistan.  According to the National Naval Aviation Museum, the S-3B Viking was nicknamed the ‘Hoover’ due to thesound of its engines.

For all Vance / Hegseth’s complaining about “pathetic” Europe in the Signal chat, worth saying the UK sent a refueller to support the self-defence of the US aircraft carrier from which these strikes were launched. And the UK previously carried out its own strikes alongside US.
