During the sampling time, the Solotvino Salt Lakes water temperature was 2.4 °C, with pH value of 7.64, TDS was found to be 302.4 g/L and conductivity exceeded 3999 µS/cm. During the sampling at the Solivar, the temperature of the brine was 12.3 °C, with a conductance exceeding 3999 µS/cm and pH of 6.5. The gravimetric analysis determined that the water fell within a hypersaline category, containing an average of 311 g/L of total dissolved solids [44].

AbstractAdaptation requires an evolving strategy and an environment. Given an environment, we predict or estimate which strategies are adapted. Given a strategy, we want to know in which environments it might be adapted. Example calculations aiming to determine such environments, named evolutionarily singular environments ESE, are presented using lab data on embryonic life histories of Austrolebias annual killifish.

AbstractPopulation management requires predictions of extinction risk based on a general understanding of these risks and on system-specific modelling. Life tables, available for numerous populations and species, permit calculating population growth and the construction of multi-type branching process models which predict population survivorship and ultimate extinction probabilities.
