NEW DELHI: The Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students' Association (BAPSA), the student organisation which had secured a central panel seat in the JNU students' union last year joined hands with two other Leftist student bodies on the campus -- the SFI and PSA -- on Thursday while the AISA forged an alliance with the DSF. Over 160 nominations for the four central panel posts have been filed while 250 students have filed nominations for school counselor positions across 16 schools.

The professor at the School of International Studies was "terminated without benefits" after the findings of a probe by the university's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) were presented at JNU's Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro's construction work for the priority corridors of Phase IV is making steady progress. Overall, more than 70% civil work has already been completed in the three corridors. Among these, about 4.6 kilometer long stretch between Majlis Park and Jagatpur Village is now almost complete. Initial trial runs were commenced on this section in late December last year.

NEW DELHI: A day after Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the government would adopt a zero-tolerance policy against fee hike several parents staged a protest outside the Delhi Directorate of Education office on Wednesday. They demanded an immediate rollback of the increased school fees and urged authorities to intervene. There have been long-standing complaints by parents and guardians against "irregular and exorbitant" fee hikes by private unaided schools in the national capital.
