FT-ED clinicians highlighted a number of unique considerations when delivering this modality to Autistic young people, including the increased prevalence of neurodivergence within families and risk of missattunement within the systemic context. FT-ED clinicians highlighted the late identification of autism in young people presenting to eating disorder services and the added complexity of differentiating between Autistic traits and an eating disorder.
