The number of casualties recorded in the devastating flood that ravaged the Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa communities in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State has risen to 151, with 3,018 persons displaced. The flood, resulting from torrential rainfall, hit the communities on Wednesday night, submerging homes and claiming over 100 lives, according to the state Deputy Governor, Mr Yakubu Garba.

The West African Examinations Council has started investigating the leakage of examination questions in the ongoing 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Sunday PUNCH reports. Our correspondents gathered that some officials of the exam body might be connected to the leakage, particularly the circulation of the English Language paper to the public four days before the examination. It was learnt that the police had also opened a probe into the matter.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Yinka Sanni as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the dairy company. The appointment follows the retirement of Mr Moyo Ajekigbe OFR, who chaired the board from 2010 to 2025. Tears flowed freely on Saturday as grieving residents of Munga Lalau and Munga Doso communities in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State buried scores of villagers killed by suspected herdsmen. The communities were thrown into mourning after the assailants stormed the villages around 2am on Friday. Eyewitnesses said the attackers, numbering over 50, invaded the villages on motorcycles and opened fire indiscriminately on sleeping residents.

No fewer than 5,000 candidates who scored 300 and above in the Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in five academic sessions failed to secure admission into tertiary institutions, findings by Saturday PUNCH have revealed.
